Acute Care in North Fort Worth, TX

When you or a family member is sick, you want timely, personalized care without the inconvenience of a crowded urgent care waiting room. Age Less Functional Medicine provides acute care visits for children and adults through both in-person appointments and secure telehealth visits.

Whether you need an examination in person or prefer the convenience of being seen from home, we will help determine the most appropriate option based on your symptoms and medical needs.

Acute care visits may be appropriate for common illnesses and minor medical concerns such as:

  • Cold and flu-like symptoms

  • Cough and congestion

  • Sinus symptoms

  • Sore throat

  • Ear pain

  • Seasonal allergies

  • Pink eye and minor eye irritation

  • Urinary symptoms

  • Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea

  • Mild abdominal discomfort

  • Minor rashes and skin concerns

  • Headaches

  • Minor injuries

  • Other non-emergency health concerns

Available services depend on the patient’s symptoms, age, medical history, and whether an in-person examination or diagnostic testing is needed.

Telehealth provides a convenient way to speak with a healthcare provider from your home, office, or another private location. During the virtual appointment, we will review your symptoms and medical history, discuss treatment recommendations, and determine whether medication, testing, or an in-person evaluation is necessary.

Telehealth may be a good option for:

  • Mild cold, flu, or allergy symptoms

  • Sinus complaints

  • Sore throat

  • Certain urinary symptoms

  • Minor rashes

  • Pink eye symptoms

  • Nausea or diarrhea

  • Other concerns that may not require a hands-on examination

Some symptoms cannot be safely or completely evaluated through telehealth. If an examination, vital signs, laboratory testing, imaging, or an in-office procedure is needed, an in-person visit may be recommended.

Telehealth Acute Care Visit: $169

Telehealth appointments are available when clinically appropriate. Patients must be physically located in Texas at the time of the appointment.

An in-person appointment allows the provider to perform a physical examination and obtain additional information that may not be available during a virtual visit. In-person care may be recommended for symptoms such as ear pain, persistent respiratory symptoms, certain abdominal complaints, injuries, or conditions requiring testing or a hands-on examination.

In-Person Acute Care Visit: $199

Personalized Care Without the Rush

At Age Less Functional Medicine, you are more than a list of symptoms. We take the time to understand your current concern, relevant health history, medications, and individual needs. Our goal is to provide thoughtful recommendations and help you understand the next steps in your care.

Treatment may include supportive care, prescription medication when appropriate, testing recommendations, or referral for a higher level of care.

Cash-Pay Acute Care

Age Less Functional Medicine is a cash-pay practice. Visit fees are collected directly from the patient and are not billed to insurance. Laboratory testing, imaging, medications, supplies, and procedures are not included in the appointment fee unless specifically stated.

I wasn’t feeling like myself for the longest time and went to several doctors to see what was wrong, but no one could tell me. I had excessive weight gain, mood swings like no other, menstrual cycles that just disappeared, and was exhausted beyond belief. When I went to see Tommora she listened to me, did some blood work, and was able to confirm I had PCOS which explained all my symptoms. She also still works with me to this day to get those symptoms under control and checks in to make sure I am okay. I am forever grateful to her for not only helping me come up with a plan to keep my condition under control, but for listening to me when no one else would.

I can't say enough about how amazing Tommora is. I was feeling very fatigued, my hair was thinning and on most days I just didn't want to get out of bed. My previous Doctor told me all my blood work came back normal, and I heard nothing else from them. I knew there was something wrong so I reached out to Tommora and my life has completely changed, she told me that she was going to get to the root of my problems and that she did. I get up every morning full of energy and my hair is looking great. Thank you Tommora for getting to the root of problem and taking the necessary test.

Do you provide acute care for children?

Yes. Age Less Functional Medicine offers acute care visits for patients of all ages. The appropriate visit type will depend on the child’s age, symptoms, medical history, and whether an examination or testing is needed.

Can every condition be treated through telehealth?

No. Telehealth is appropriate for many minor illnesses, but some symptoms require an in-person examination, vital signs, testing, imaging, or emergency evaluation. The provider will determine whether virtual care is appropriate.

Can medication be prescribed during a telehealth visit?

Medication may be prescribed when medically appropriate and permitted by applicable laws and clinical guidelines. A prescription is not guaranteed and will depend on the evaluation.

What happens if I need testing?

The provider may recommend laboratory testing, imaging, or an in-person evaluation based on your symptoms. The cost of outside testing is separate from the visit fee.

Do you accept insurance?

Age Less Functional Medicine is a cash-pay practice and does not bill insurance for the appointment. Patients may be able to use insurance for eligible prescriptions, laboratory testing, imaging, or other outside services, depending on their individual coverage.

Is acute care the same as emergency care?

No. Acute care visits are intended for non-life-threatening illnesses and minor medical concerns. They are not a substitute for emergency medical care.

When to Seek Emergency Care

Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department for chest pain, severe difficulty breathing, signs of a stroke, loss of consciousness, severe allergic reaction, uncontrolled bleeding, a serious injury, sudden confusion, or any condition that may be life-threatening.

If you or a family member needs care for a non-emergency illness or minor medical concern, contact Age Less Functional Medicine to determine whether an in-person or telehealth visit is appropriate.
